Mainboard-listed AsiaPharm Group, a China-based drugs company,
said yesterday that one of its key products has been listed as an
approved drug under China's National Health Insurance List, which
means the product will gain wider use in hospitals and boost the
group's revenue.
The drug, which is mainly used to treat gastroenterological ailments
such as gastric and duodenum ulcers, contributed 11.6 per cent to
group revenue for the first half of the 2004 financial year.
AsiaPharm said it also obtained a manufacturing licence recently
for a new
drug for the treatment of heart diseases. The drug will be available
in the market by the end of the year.
