Thakral teams up with Japanese group

THAKRAL Corp yesterday announced a tie-up with Japan's Suns Corporation, which makes and sells consumer electronic products and home appliances under its own brand, Sunstech, as well as distributes products of other brands.

Suns will take a 51 per cent stake and Thakral a 49 per cent stake in Suns IPO (HK), which will handle the international procurement of consumer products and home appliances on behalf of the two partners.

'The alliance will also enable the group to take advantage of Suns Corporation's branch and business affiliate network in 12 countries including Europe, the Middle East and South Africa for expanding its business in these regions,' mainboard-listed Thakral said.
